About Ryo Uchiyama
Calligrapher
Ryo Uchiyama began learning calligraphy at the age of 7, and by 10, he had won the prefectural governor's award in his hometown of Fukuoka, showcasing his exceptional skill. Since then, he has received numerous awards and has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, and Nishinippon Shimbun. Uchiyama achieved the grand prize at the national high school and university calligraphy competition for three consecutive years, starting in his first year of high school.
In his second year of high school, Uchiyama won the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the 48th Calligraphy Exhibition sponsored by Daito Bunka University. Today, Uchiyama works as a calligraphy artist, creating designs for Hollywood movie titles, fashion brands, and engaging in various other calligraphy-related projects.
